Anti-Racism Workshop Series

January 8 - January 15

Are you seeking ways to deepen your understanding of race and systemic racism? Do you want to cultivate skills to advance an anti-racist society?

Duke graduate and undergraduate students are invited to participate in an interactive 3-session series this January to develop their understanding of racial equity and to interrogate how racism shows up internally, interpersonally, and institutionally. The workshop series is designed and facilitated by we are (working to extend anti-racist education).

Workshops will take place January 8, 12, and 15 from 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.

By the end of the series, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize and challenge their own biases
  • Move beyond individual bigotry and bias to a structural and institutional analysis
  • Know how to speak up when witnessing biased behaviors
  • Understand how systemic racism functions through laws and policies
To apply, please complete this form. Space is limited to 80 students.
Co-sponsored by: Duke Civic Engagement, Duke Service-Learning, NC LiteracyCorps, Duke Human Rights Center @FHI, Hart Leadership Program, and Duke’s Center for Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation.
