Earlier this year, President Brodhead signed the Campus Compact 30th Anniversary Action Statement, committing Duke University to develop a Civic Action Plan by March 2017. As a member of Campus Compact, Duke is part of a national coalition of nearly 1,100 colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education. The Civic Action Plan provides our campus the opportunity to identify and prioritize strategies to strengthen civic engagement efforts. The timing of this work coincides with the university’s strategic planning process, which has already helped inform our own.
These sessions will explore and shape how civic engagement can continue to be a vibrant part of the Duke campus and community. Please forward this invitation to any other individuals that may be interested. We have added you to receive a handful of messages about the Civic Action Planning process; you can opt out of this list at any time. Learn more and register.
